Kenny Golladay of the Detroit Lions is tackled by Kendall Sheffield of the Atlanta Falcons after making a reception during the first half at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Oct. 25, 2020, in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Detroit Lions had just taken over on offense after the Atlanta Falcons had scored a touchdown. Matthew Stafford of the Lions passed the ball high over the middle to a slanting Kenny Golladay as he leaped up over Kendall Sheffield of the Atlanta Falcons to pull in the reception. As he pulled it in, Sheffield leaped and reached to knock the ball loose with one hand but also wrapped up Golladay’s leg with the other. The momentum they both carried in the same direction took them parallel to the turf midair. It was an awesome play to capture and I admire how Golladay keeps ahold of the ball as he braces for the fall to the turf, all while Sheffield is trying to strip the ball away and falling on top of him.

Kenley Jansen of the Los Angeles Dodgers reacts after allowing the game-winning single to Brett Phillips of the Tampa Bay Rays during the ninth inning to give the Rays the 8-7 victory in Game 4 of the 2020 MLB World Series at Globe Life Field on Oct. 24, 2020, in Arlington, Texas.

Going into the final out of Game 4 of the World Series I felt that the Los Angeles Dodgers had this game wrapped up and probably the advantage to win the series. I was focused on shooting in our outfield position, capturing batters and outfield plays. At the plate, Brett Phillips of the Tampa Bay Rays wasn’t someone I had seen all series so I was skeptical he could end the game on a walk-off. Well, I was wrong. I covered him hitting the ball and immediately went to Kenly Jansen of the Dodgers to see his reaction. I was expecting his usual slight fist pump after a win but instead got a pained “what just happened?” look as he went to his knees in anguish. That was just the beginning, I focused back on Phillips who was running through the outfield acting like an airplane as his team that just got a second wind chased him around. I’ve covered many World Series, but this finish ranks up there as one of the craziest!

Tiger Woods of the United States walks on the 13th hole during the first round of the Zozo Championship at Sherwood on Oct. 22, 2020, in Thousand Oaks, California.

This picture of Tiger Woods was taken last week at the Zozo Championships in Thousand Oaks, California. It is different shooting all sports right now with Covid, but I definitely noticed the difference when I was shooting Tiger. Tiger has the biggest fan base of any golfer, and probably any athlete in the world. During his heyday, Tiger would have 20+ photographers following him around at any given day, plus thousands and thousands of fans. This tournament was very different because there was only a handful of photographers, and no fans were allowed on the course. This shot was taken when Tiger was walking up the 13th fairway. It was unique because he was all by himself without any fans, other golfers or any photographers nearby. I was able to sneak up behind him as he walked up a hill, and get a clean shot of him against the clouds in the sky.
