Free agent Jackie Bradley Jr. is a wanted man this offseason, with the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros among the teams ready to battle it out to land him
Where will Jackie Bradley Jr. suit up next? That’s the question baseball fans have on their minds this offseason, as the veteran outfielder is a free agent and is looking for a place to call home. Will he be making a return to Boston?
That’s most certainly in the cards, but there’s another team in the race that Red Sox fans might not be too excited hear about: the Houston Astros. With Houston looking to get back to the World Series, they’ve targeted Bradley Jr. as a potential option to help them out.
The Red Sox and Astros could battle it out to land outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. this offseason
Bradley Jr. has spent the first eight seasons of his career in Boston, but could be ready to make a move this winter? Boston and Houston aren’t the only teams who will be ready to try and sign him to a new deal. Whoever does land him will be getting a player who can hit the long ball, and is also known for making some incredible plays in the field.
It seems like every season, Boston fans were guaranteed for Bradley Jr. to make a miraculous catch at some point in the summer. At the plate, he hit .283 last season, with seven homers and 22 RBI in 2020.
It was of course a year to forget for the Red Sox, who finished in last place of the AL East standings and missed the postseason. Alex Cora will be back in the dugout, though. Come next spring, we’ll have to wait and see if Bradley will be back in the lineup for them too, or if he’ll be heading to Houston or somewhere else.
