Kyle Schwarber is attracting plenty of interest this offseason.
The Chicago Cubs parted ways with one of the holdovers from the curse-breaking championship team, as outfielder Kyle Schwarber was let go following a subpar 2020 season. Even though he is coming off a rough campaign in 2020, the powerful left-hander will have some contenders interested in his services, even after raking at just a .188 clip in the shortened 2020 season.
Per 670TheScore in Chicago, Schwarber is drawing interest from Tony La Russa and the White Sox. In addition, the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves have inquired about the powerful slugger.

Even though his batting average will never come anything close to above average, Schwarber’s 30 home run power will make sure that there is a market for him this offseason. The problem with Schwarber’s player profile was the fact that he is a liability on defense, and that has largely limited his appeal to teams in the National League.
All three options have plenty to be excited about. While the Angels and White Sox have openings at the DH spot that could ultimately solidify their lineups, the Yankees could give him the chance to join a team with the best odds of taking home the AL Pennant in 2020. Considering the short right-field porch, New York might be a very attractive option for Schwarber.
Schwarber still has plenty of boom left in his bat, and he will only be 28 years old by the time next season starts. As long as his price doesn’t skyrocket in the coming weeks, all three of those teams should be in for him, as he has shown enough in his career to be worth taking a chance on after a down year.
