Dodgers: Clayton Kershaw finally getting his World Series ring is the best thing you’ll see all day

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw finally getting his World Series ring was so awesome.

The best thing you are going to see all day is Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw finally getting his World Series ring.

Kershaw has spent his entire MLB career with the Dodgers since being drafted by the Boys in Blue out of high school in 2006. Prior to 2020, Kershaw had done just about everything on mound outside of winning a World Series. No matter how many Cy Youngs he won or trips to the All-Star Game he made, it always came back to him never winning it all … until it finally happened in 2020.

Kershaw and his Dodgers teammates got their World Series rings on Friday afternoon ahead of their 2021 home opener vs. the Washington Nationals. This was the Dodgers’ first World Series championship since 1988, back when Kershaw was an infant living in suburban Dallas, Texas. Now at 33 years old, everything has come full circle for arguably the best pitcher of his generation.

Los Angeles Dodgers fans can get emotional over Clayton Kershaw getting a ring

A generation of Angelenos had never seen their beloved baseball team win the Fall Classic. Even the little brother franchise over in Anaheim got to taste sweet victory in the 21st century. Despite all the NL West division crowns, it had been mostly heartache and pain for the Dodgers in the postseason prior to last year. No player was more scrutinized for those shortcomings than Kershaw.

The best part about seeing Kershaw finally getting his ring is you can feel the loathsome burden of past years’ failures being lifted. Now that he has that monkey off his back, Kershaw can go out there and play some truly unencumbered baseball. The milestone on the docket for him is 200 career wins. While he will not get there this year, he will eventually achieve it as a World Series champion.

If you cannot be happy for Kershaw finally getting his ring, you must be a San Francisco Giants fan.
