Vladimir Guerrero Jr. decided he needed to carry Freddy Galvis off the field after a brawl.
In the wake of the Toronto Blue Jays‘ benches-clearing brawl with the Baltimore Orioles, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. decided to pick up Freddy Galvis and carry him off the field.
The benches-clearing brawl came after Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah hit Orioles third baseman Maikel Franco. While this is not the first time benches have cleared after a hitter was beaned by a pitcher, when was the last time you saw one guy pick up another and try to carry him off the field? These are two full-grown adults, but only one displayed full-grown man strength.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. picks up and carries Freddy Galvis off the field
The Blue Jays’ corner infielder and designated hitter is 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds. The Orioles’ middle infielder is 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds. So Guerrero has four inches and 60 pounds on Galvis. We also should not over look that Guerrero is only 22-years-old and in his third big league season, while Galvis is 31-years-old and has played in the big leagues for well over a decade now.
Guerrero might be living in the shadow of his Baseball Hall of Fame namesake father, but he is too big and too good to remain hidden for all that much longer. As far as Galvis, there is no way he could have known that he was going to be picked up by Guerrero after a benches-clearing brawl when he woke up this morning. This is a prime example of every baseball game being different.
Guerrero and his Blue Jays continue to assert their dominance over the lowly rival Orioles.
