San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals

Cardinals’ Johan Oviedo has some NSFW words for Giants’ Mike Yastrzemski (Video)

St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Johan Oviedo stepped off the mound to tell San Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to shut up.

The St. Louis Cardinals already earned the series win over the San Francisco Giants after taking the first two games. But things got a little testy during the third and final game of the set on Wednesday night.

In the bottom of the second inning, Cardinals pitcher Johan Oviedo surrendered an RBI double to Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to allow San Francisco to extend their lead to 2-1. As Yastrzemski was on second, he apparently got on the nerves of Oviedo, who stepped off the mound to tell him to “shut up.” Well, that, and two more words in between them.

Of course, everyone is wondering what exactly caused Oviedo to direct those words towards Yastrzemski. There is no point in assuming, because the baseball world will likely receive answers during the postgame press conference. So, stay patient.

Entering Wednesday night, Oviedo carried a 5.14 ERA and an 0-4 record while recording 37 strikeouts and 26 walks through 49 innings of work (11 games). In his start against the Giants, Oviedo exited after four innings, where he recorded three strikeouts and four walks while surrendering two earned runs on three hits.

Again, if you are curious about what caused Oviedo to yell towards Yastrzemski, keep your eyes peeled on your social media feeds, as the answer could be revealed after the game.
