If Marlins actually do trade Jazz Chisholm, this team makes most sense

The Miami Marlins are reportedly unhappy with 24-year-old second baseman Jazz Chisholm. If they trade him, which destination makes sense?

While the Sox have an old-school manager in Tony La Russa, he’s actually embraced a new-school way of thinking. TLR is beloved in the Sox clubhouse, including by the likes of shortstop Tim Anderson.

Theoretically, Chisholm would fit right in, assuming he dropped his Dennis Rodman act.

The Marlins are reportedly upset with Chisholm’s antics. He was subject to criticism in a recent Marlins team meeting.

The organization did release a statement in support of Chisholm despite recent reports: “While we cannot provide specific details about the team meeting, we support Jazz Chisholm and are proud that he is a member of the Miami Marlins.”

White Sox rumors: Does Jazz Chisholm make sense?

There is a gaping hole right next to Anderson at second base. Surely, Chisholm would fit right in, especially if he played at an All-Star level.

La Russa and Co. just want to win. They don’t care about other antics.

Reports surfaced that perhaps Chisholm’s teammates were jealous of his success, rather than actually angry about how he carried himself. Nonetheless, it speaks to a culture issue in Miami, and perhaps it would be easier to trade Chisholm and start over rather than build around him.

New surroundings can do wonders for a player. So can playing for a contender. As promising as Miami’s future is, there’s arguably more talent on the South Side.

It’s something worth monitoring.
