MLB All-Star starters revealed: Braves, Blue Jays fans show out in voting

The starters for the 2022 MLB All-Star Game were revealed on July 8. Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves fans showed out to vote.

The 2022 MLB All-Star Game is set to take place on July 19, live from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. MLB teams were pushing for fans to vote for their favorite players onto the American League and National League All-Star teams.

Four players were already confirmed for the game, as Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. and New York Yankees star Aaron Judge received the most votes in their respective leagues. Albert Pujols and Miguel Cabrera were named legacy players by commissioner Rob Manfred.

Now, here is the moment you have all been waiting for — who are the starters for the AL and NL teams.

American League All-Star starters

Below are the starters for the AL All-Star team:

The Toronto Blue Jays have two members of the starting lineup. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will man first base, while catcher Alejandro Kirk will be behind the plate. They are tied for the most starters on the AL All-Star team alongside the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Angels. The Yankees will have Judge and Giancarlo Stanton manning the corner outfield spots. The Angels have Mike Trout as the starting center fielder, while Shohei Ohtani will be the designated hitter.

Rounding out the rest of the infield are Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers, Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, and Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve.

National League All-Star starters

Below are the starters for the NL All-Star team:

The infield consists of San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado, Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Trea Turner, Miami Marlins second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr., and St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt.

Acuna, Mookie Betts of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and Joc Pederson of the San Francisco Giants will make up the outfield.

Willson Contreras of the Chicago Cubs will be the starting catcher, while Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies was voted as the starting designated hitter.
