Fernando Tatis Jr. homered in his rehab start against the San Francisco Giants minor-league team. Kade McClure, who gave up the home run, did not hold back his thoughts.
Tatis Jr. is currently rehabbing from injury all the while serving the remainder of his PED suspension. Tatis technically cannot return to the San Diego Padres until April 20. It’s unclear what his role will be there upon arrival, though the former star shortstop has been open to a position switch.
Given Tatis Jr. was suspended 80 games for taking a banned substance. Rather than owning up to taking the substance to better his performance, Tatis Jr. claims he took it for a ringworm infection, but was unaware of the Clostebol in the medication he was taking.

Despite multiple wrist surgeries and a PED suspension, Tatis Jr. is still an integral part of the Padres future. He is just 24 years old and a career .292/.369/.596 hitter. If we are to believe the Clostebol did not impact his performance at the plate, then perhaps his best days are in front of him.
Tatis Jr. hit an absolute bomb for Sacramento on Wednesday night, taking Kade McClure deep in the process. He even stopped to admire his blast, which clearly did not sit well with the Giants prospect.
After the game. McClure took to Twitter to call out Tatis Jr., insisting he’s a cheater and still serving a suspension for a reason.
McClure is 27 years old and trying to finally break into the big leagues with the Giants this season. Given this information, it’s easy to understand why he’s particularly upset with Tatis, Jr., who he perceives took the easy way out to superstardom.
It’s unclear how true that opinion is, but McClure let the entire Twittersphere in on his worldview last night.
