The Chattanooga Lookouts, the Reds minor league affiliate, found the most unconventional way to rout the Rocket City Trash Pandas while being no-hit.
Winning while being on the wrong end of a no-hitter has happened before. It’s not an impossible feat. But the way the Chattanooga Lookouts did it on Saturday was outrageously unique.
The Reds‘ Double-A affiliate was facing off with the Angels‘ affiliate when the two delivered the most improbable ending you can imagine.
The Rocket City Trash Pandas tossed a no-hitter against the Lookouts. But the Lookouts won 7-5.

All seven of the Lookouts’ runs were scored in the seventh and final inning, as the first leg of a Saturday double-header, with two outs already on the board.
You literally could not make it up.
In the top of the frame, Ben Joyce walked three batters to load the bases. A fourth walk gave Chattanooga their first run of the game.
Stuff really hit the fan when center fielder Jeremiah Jackson dropped the outfield fly ball that would have ended the game. All three runners on base scored to give the Lookouts the 4-3 lead.
The introduction of a new pitcher, Eric Torres, didn’t help matters for the Trash Pandas. He hit the first three batters he faced, then walked in a run before a wild pitch scored the seventh run.
The end result was the most improbable win the Lookouts have ever had.
