Rays vs. White Sox prediction and odds for Saturday, April 29 (Fade struggling Sox)

The Tampa Bay Rays have continued their red-hot start to the season, winning two straight games and eight of their last 10 matchups heading into a game with the struggling Chicago White Sox on Saturday.

Chicago is just 1-9 over its last 10 games, losing nine straight to fall to the No. 4 spot in the AL Central division.

The White Sox have been one of the more disappointing teams in MLB over the last two seasons, and they could be in line for their 10th straight loss as home dogs against the Rays.

Veteran Lance Lynn (0-3, 7.52 ERA) gets the ball for the White Sox against Tampa Bay’s opener Calvin Faucher (0-1, 5.68 ERA).

Let’s break down the odds and my best bet for this Saturday night contest:

Rays vs. White Sox odds, run line and total

Rays vs. White Sox prediction and pick

There’s a reason why these teams are on the complete opposite ends of the American League standings this season.

Tampa Bay’s offense has been one of the best in baseball, ranking No. 1 in OPS while the White Sox are just 27th.

It doesn’t help that the Sox are getting poor outing after poor outing from a player they were relying on in Lynn, who has gotten rocked to start this season. The team is 0-5 in his five starts.

Faucher hasn’t been great, allowing five earned runs over his last 6.2 innings of work (three appearances), but he’s giving way to a bullpen that ranks No. 2 in MLB in ERA this season.

If the Sox can’t get to Faucher early, they’re going to have a tough time manufacturing runs against this Rays unit.

Tampa Bay is a steal at -135 to win this game.
