A Dodgers ball girl ruthlessly checked a fan who was being chased by security for running on the field into and over the wall in right field.
Fans who run onto the field at major league ballparks definitely aren’t thinking about the consequences of their actions.
That’s unfortunate for them but lucky for everyone who gets to see them taken down, usually by security, in spectacular fashion.
On Sunday, it wasn’t security providing the crushing blow, and that made it even better. A fan at Dodger Stadium got more than he bargained for when he underestimated the power of a Los Angeles Dodgers ball girl.
The intruder was outrunning security, but he made the mistake of going straight for the ball girl on the right field wall. She sent him careening towards the wall with one good push, resulting in a feet-over-head flip over the top. Security handled it from there.
A Dodgers ball girl taught a field invader a harsh lesson
Lesson No. 1: Don’t run onto the field.
Lesson No. 2: Don’t mess with ball girls.
The fan got to enjoy an embarrassing tumble and a dogpile by security. He can also look forward to a ballpark ban.
If he’s a Dodgers fan, he’ll regret that one, considering how the team is a World Series contender this year.
With Max Scherzer and Trea Turner added at the trade deadline, Los Angeles is 66-45 with the second-best record in the National League.
On Sunday, fans got to watch an unexpected tackle in the outfield, along with a couple of home runs. Albert Pujols replaced Justin Turner, who left with a groin issue, and blasted a two-run homer before Cody Bellinger smashed his own two-run home run to give the Dodgers a sizable advantage over the Los Angeles Angels.
