A-list movie star Kevin Costner has returned to the Field of Dreams to have a catch.
They built it knowing he would come back, as Kevin Costner has a catch at the Field of Dreams.
With the 2021 MLB Field of Dreams game between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox taking place on Thursday night, the movie star of the game’s namesake ventured onto the picturesque baseball diamond in the middle of a Dyersville, Iowa cornfield to take it all in. Simply blown away by the field fit for big leaguers, Costner basked in its glory before having a catch.

Kevin Costner makes his triumphant return to the Field of Dreams
For those unfamiliar with the movie of the novel it is based after, Shoeless Joe, Costner plays a 30-something Iowa farmer named Ray Kinsella who is told by a voice from above to build a baseball field in the middle of a cornfield.
He does this, despite the financial hardship it could cause his family. Kinsella is reunited by his father and members of the 1919 Black Sox, namely Shoeless Joe Jackson who was played by Ray Liotta, to play the game they love.
Costner has an impressive acting resume, but he will always be best remembered for all the roles he had in so many baseball movies. From Bull Durham to Field of Dreams to For the Love of the Game, you can always count on Costner to deliver in the clutch on the cinematic baseball diamond.
The White Sox will face the Yankees at the Field of Dreams at 7:15 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 12.
