Every year of MLB playoffs is an opportunity for the next generation of baseball standouts to put their name in the record books.
The more you know about the record books, the better you can appreciate the performances of today and tomorrow.
So who holds the records for the most home runs in the playoffs?
Most home runs in MLB playoffs in a career
Manny Ramirez blasted 29 playoff home runs during his exceptional career as a slugger for the Red Sox and Dodgers. He easily outpaced Bernie Williams with 22 and Derek Jeter with 20.
Albert Pujols could climb up the ladder in 2021 with the Dodgers. He’s tied with George Springer at 19 playoff home runs.
Most home runs in MLB playoffs in a single season
What about the single-season record for playoff homers? That one belongs to Randy Arozarena, whose incredible performance in the 2020 playoffs netted him 10 home runs. He did that as a rookie, so he’s well on his way to contending for Ramirez’s all-time record.
Corey Seager had an impressive 2020 playoffs as well, with eight to tie himself with Barry Bonds, Nelson Cruz and Carlos Beltran in second place.
Who knows which baseball star will make a name for themselves as a postseason savant. It should be fun to watch the records change over the next few years.
