Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Randy Arozarena isn’t worried about playing the New York Yankees in the playoffs at Yankee Stadium.
The New York Yankees are traveling to Fenway Park to take on the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night in the AL Wild Card. The winner will advance to the AL Divisional Series to take on the division leader Tampa Bay Rays.
The Yankees beat the Rays on Sunday at Yankee Stadium, 1-0, to clinch a playoff berth. Tampa Bay outfielder Randy Arozarena isn’t worried about potentially having to play in the Bronx again in the postseason.
Tampa Bay Rays’ Randy Arozarena isn’t bothered by playing the New York Yankees in the Bronx
Following Sunday’s game, Arozarena was asked about how he felt playing in front of a tough crowd at Yankee Stadium again in the playoffs.
The hecklers in the Bronx are going to have to step their game up if they make it past Tuesday night and get to host Randy and the Rays in the playoffs. Arozarena is Cuban and New York City boasts a large Spanish-speaking population, but the Yankee fans who sit out in right field have been presented with a new challenge.
Can New York fans who don’t speak Spanish learn the language in a week? Regardless, Randy enjoys the yelling and actually takes it as a compliment.
If Arozarena was aware of everything that was being yelled at him, it may be a different story. It seems like it wouldn’t affect him either way. After all, he’s the one playing in the MLB.
