Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz couldn’t have been happier after his former club took down the Tampa Bay Rays to advance to the ALCS.
The parties are probably still going on all over Boston. Despite the Red Sox entering their ALDS series as underdogs going up against the Tampa Bay Rays, the team was able to close things out on Monday night. That’s right, Boston is headed to the ALCS.
Now, the team will await the winner of the Astros vs. White Sox showdown before they try and punch their tickets to the World Series.
Everyone is fired up for the team right now and you know that includes club legend, David Ortiz. Big Papi is big-time hyped.
David Ortiz was jacked up on Twitter after Boston advanced to the ALCS
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ortiz is so thrilled right now. It’s been an unreal week for the Red Sox. First, they took down the hated New York Yankees in the AL Wild Card Game. In that matchup, Boston lit up Gerrit Cole and embarrassed New York.
Then, they entered their series with Tampa Bay with few people outside of Massachusetts giving them a shot. Boston then silenced all of its haters by recording a 3-1 series win. Monday’s game ended with a bang, as Kike Hernandez walked things off with his sacrifice fly. While everyone in the ballpark thought he was going yard with that swing, the fans of course were more than happy with the sac.
Now, Boston will look to keep things going against either Houston or Chicago. They figure to be underdogs for that one too, but countless people will be ready to believe in them once again getting the job done. Ortiz will be on that list.
