Red Sox fans were rowdy outside Fenway Park after a big ALCS Game 3 win, so much so that FOX had to keep muting their postgame show due to NSFW chants.
Fenway Park was rocking on Monday night as the Boston Red Sox routed the Houston Astros in Game 3 of the ALCS to take a 2-1 series lead. The fans in Beantown showed up ready to be loud, rowdy and get behind their team, especially in a dominant winning effort.
But after the final out of the contest, the fans didn’t stop being rowdy — they just took it to the streets outside of Fenway.
Specifically, hoards of fans poured in behind the FOX (or FS1) postgame show. And those fans kept breaking out into NSFW chants that were so loud that the broadcast kept having to mute the postgame commentary to keep the microphones from picking up anything that wasn’t PG.
Red Sox fans kept forcing FOX to mute their postgame commentary outside Fenway
Seriously, the Red Sox fans made sure they completely ruined the postgame broadcast as FS1 kept having to mute the mics again…
And again.
It’s unclear what the rest of the chants were, but the first one was definitely an expletive directed towards Astros second baseman Jose Altuve, who has been the target of plenty of ire in Boston, included getting booed hardcore during player intros on Monday night.
Fans are clearly excited about the Red Sox and, well, they have every right to be. The club is now two wins away from punching a ticket to the World Series with two games on the docket at Fenway.
In that light, this probably won’t be the last we hear from the Fenway faithful.
