Braves: Is Jorge Soler vaccinated against COVID-19?

Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler revealed whether he received the COVID-19 vaccine ahead of NLCS Game 6.

The Atlanta Braves were dealt a blow during their National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers after outfielder Jorge Soler was placed on the COVID-19 injury list after testing positive. But ahead of Game 5 of the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Braves announced that they have removed Soler from the list and placed him on their active roster.

Ahead of Game 6 on Saturday night, Soler spoke with the media and revealed that he had not received the COVID-19 vaccine. However, after being asymptomatic and away from the team, Soler said that his opinion on the vaccine has changed, and that he will get inoculated as soon as he can.

For those still wondering, Jorge Soler was not vaccinated. Still hasn’t been, but said he plans to as soon as he can.

Braves: Jorge Soler plans on getting COVID-19 vaccine

After testing positive for COVID-19, Soler missed five postseason games before ultimately returning for NLCS Game 5 this past Thursday night. He was replaced on the roster by Cristian Pache during that span, and has since been taken off the roster, per the team.

Soler was one of the many acquisitions that the Braves made at this year’s trade deadline, and he played a role in the team clinching the NL East title for the fourth consecutive season. Through his 55 regular-season games, Soler slashed .269/.358/.524 while recording 14 home runs, 33 RBI, 36 runs scored and 56 hits.

This postseason, including his one at-bat during Game 5, Soler has gone 1-for-12 at the plate, where he recorded one double, scored one run, walked twice and struck out five times. Soler hit the double in Game 2 of the NLDS and and scored after an RBI single by first baseman Freddie Freeman.

With Soler back from his stay on the COVID-19 injury list, he plans on getting vaccinated as soon as he can.
