Minnesota Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson wasn’t going to sit back and let a Chicago White Sox supporter troll him.
You think Josh Donaldson is really going to sit back and let people savage him on social media? No chance. We were reminded of that once again this week, as a fan of the Chicago White Sox thought he could get away with taking a shot at Donaldson and the Minnesota Twins.
On Twitter, the fan indeed tried getting in a shot at the Twins, but Donaldson wasn’t going to let him have it, replying with a shot of his own over Chicago’s disappointing showing in the postseason this year.
Josh Donaldson totally owned a White Sox fan on Twitter
This fan probably thought he could get away with his actions, but Donaldson had other ideas. The fact that he reminded this guy that the White Sox didn’t live up to the hype in the postseason and were eliminated in the ALDS after suffering a 3-1 series loss to the Houston Astros sure was savage.
Houston is now in the World Series, while Tony La Russa and Co. are stuck at home watching things instead. For Donaldson, it was a year to forget for the Twins, as they finished in last place of the AL Central with their 73-89 record.
It of course wasn’t what Donaldson envisioned for 2021. For him on a personal level, the veteran hit .247 with 26 home runs and 72 RBI. Now, he’s already shifted his focus to 2022 to try and help Minnesota get back into a competitive position.
He’ll enjoy the rest of his offseason first and then get ready for a big campaign next year. Before that, though, folks on Twitter better think twice about going after him. He’s not going to let things slide.
