As Robbie Ray, the AL Cy Young winner, enters free agency, where should he look to sign? Here are three teams he must consider.
Robbie Ray is coming off a stunning season for the Toronto Blue Jays. Through 32 starts, Ray posted a 2.84 ERA and struck out 248 batters in 193.1 innings pitched.
That sort of excellence led to Ray receiving the Cy Young award.
At 30 years old, Ray is a veteran pitcher who has made his way to a few teams throughout his career. He started his MLB career with the Detroit Tigers back in 2014, ended up with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2015 and pitched there until 2020 when he was traded to the Blue Jays.
Now, after a thrilling year, Ray has a chance to choose his next destination. So, where will he end up?

Los Angeles Angels
One team that is looking to start contending as soon as possible and has an exciting roster with plenty of potential is the Los Angeles Angels.
The Angels are in need of some help pitching. While they do have some talent in their starting rotation, like with the always fascinating Shohei Ohtani, they could certainly benefit from landing another star starting pitcher.
That’s where Ray could (potentially) come in.
Los Angeles is likely to look around at a few talented free agent starting pitchers this offseason. With Justin Verlander no longer available for a deal, guys like Ray will receive plenty of attention from teams who are looking to win immediately.
If Ray were to join the Angels, he’d have a chance to help Los Angeles return to the postseason for the first time since 2014. With guys like Ohtani and Mike Trout already on the roster, that could be possible sooner rather than later, assuming everyone can stay healthy and play up to their potential.
