Minnesota Twins fans are going to love watching Carlos Correa jack his first dinger with his new club.
The Carlos Correa era with the Minnesota Twins has taken off and fans are loving every minute of it. The AL Central side pulled off quite the stunner in inking him to a three-year contract, as many believed he’d either end up in New York, Atlanta or re-sign with the Astros.
Instead, Minnesota won the sweepstakes. On Tuesday, Correa put on a show during a Spring Training game, belting his first homer with the Twins. Interestingly enough, that dinger came off lefty Brooks Raley, Correa’s former Houston teammate.

That smash from Correa was a true no-doubter, and it’s exactly why Minnesota broke the bank to get him in town. Correa signed his three-year, $105 million deal with the Twins earlier this month and people have been waiting to see him make plays for the team ever since.
Without question one of the best shortstops in the game, Correa is also known for his outstanding power. That was on full display against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Raley delivered a pitch right down Main Street, and Correa made him pay for it.
With the Correa signing, it shows the Twins are ready to make some serious noise in the division. Whenever you add a player of Correa’s caliber, it’s also going to have people all over the city even more excited for Opening Day to arrive.
The Twins will have plenty of work to do to try and win the division and go on a deep postseason run, but Correa has provided plenty of hope in that department. Once Game 1 of the new campaign arrives, he’ll be ready to live up to the hype.
