In his first opportunity to face off against his former team, George Springer launched a home run in his first at-bat against the Houston Astros.
George Springer broke the hearts of Houstonians when he ended up deciding to leave the Houston Astros for the Toronto Blue Jays. Unfortunately for the folks in Houston, Springer is breaking hearts in Space City once more as he helps the Blue Jays get a win over his former team.
How did Springer help lift the Blue Jays past the Astros on Saturday? Well, in his first at-bat in Houston since he left the Astros, Springer hammered a home run to give Toronto a nice 1-0 lead in the first inning.
It’s an impressive home run! Astros fans would agree. They just don’t want Springer’s home runs happening against them.

Look, Springer is apparently just used to simply hitting home runs in Houston. It happens. He did it for much of his career.
It’s just that Astros fans aren’t going to be fond of the team he currently hits home runs for because it isn’t Houston. There are many Houstonians that happen to believe the Astros should have done more to help keep Springer with the team.
But that’s not how everything unfolded and now Springer will hit dingers for the Blue Jays. Unfortunately for the Astros, that apparently includes whenever he faces them.
He sure seems to fit in with the good folks in Houston and there are will always be many who will be fond of him for all that he accomplished in helping the Astros over the years. That includes helping the Astros win that 2017 World Series.
