MLB insider Jon Heyman revealed on his podcast the odds of the Washington Nationals trading Juan Soto.
The Washington Nationals are once again floating near the bottom of the NL East standings. With that, they are going to be a team to watch that may very well sell at the trade deadline. One name that has been brought up is star Juan Soto, who is scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency after the 2024 season. Not only that but the Nationals are expected to sell to new ownership in the near future.
During an episode of “The Show” podcast with the New York Post’s Joel Sherman, MLB insider Jon Heyman revealed that he has heard that there are many bidders for the Nationals and that they have all said they want Soto on the team.

MLB insider says Juan Soto will not be traded
That is certainly welcome news for Nationals fans, but Heyman says it is barring anything bizarre happening.
As mentioned earlier, the Nationals still have two more seasons remaining before Soto hits free agency. It is widely expected that Soto could be the first player to earn a $500 million contract in American professional team sports. Now, it remains to be seen if the two sides can agree to terms on a new deal in the near future before his current deal runs out.
Through 50 games this season, Soto is slashing .236/.382/.449 while recording nine home runs, 16 RBI, 29 runs scored and 42 hits. Soto also leads the league in walks with 41.
So Nationals fans, you can breathe a sigh of relief for now, as the team trading Soto does not seem imminent.
