Jazz Chisholm reportedly ‘subject of criticism’ in Marlins team meeting
“Jazz is like Dennis Rodman,” the person told Heyman. “He will always be a lightning rod. But he works and plays hard.”
Heyman notes that the person who said the above quote suggested that teammates may be “jealous” of Chisholm.
Manager Don Mattingly suggested that the team could come out of the meeting flat for their game against the Nationals. The thing is, the Marlins won their next three games to complete the series sweep. In fact, Miami outscored Washington 21-7.
As for how Chisholm performed in the Nationals series, he went 4-for-13 and recorded six RBI. Two of those hits were home runs that took place in the June 7 game!
Miami’s second baseman is on pace to have a career year with the Marlins, and they are only two months into the season. Through 45 games, Chisholm is slashing .255/.311/.527 while recording 10 home runs, 37 RBI and 42 hits. In fact, he already leads the league in triples with four.
