Which Futures Game prospects will be MLB All-Stars by 2024?
The 2022 Futures Game, Minor League Baseball’s annual showcase of the best prospects in the game, is just around the corner. Set to be played in Dodger Stadium on July 16th this year, the rosters were announced yesterday, and the game is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded minor league events in years.
Headlined by exciting young prospects Gunnar Henderson (Baltimore Orioles – No. 5), Jasson Dominguez (New York Yankees – No. 40), Francisco Alvarez (New York Mets – No. 2) and Corbin Carroll (Arizona Diamondbacks – No. 3), the newly-announced Futures Game rosters brings up the question: which of these young guns could be playing in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game by the year 2024?
Dominguez, Jack Leiter, Jackson Chourio and Eury Perez are likely to be All-Stars down the line, but their ETA’s are not until 2024, so we’ll have to go with some of the prospects on the older end of things.

#5 – Kansas City Royals 1B/OF Nick Pratto (No. 71 in MLB, No. 2 in KC)
No. 2 Kansas City Royals prospect Nick Pratto is slowly inching closer and closer to his first big league promotion. The big left-handed first baseman very closely matches the player profile of fellow first base prospect Vinnie Pasquantino, who just recently was brought up to the big leagues for the first time.
Pratto, 23, recently took up the outfield as well, getting playing time in left and right field in an effort to expand his versatility and find a quicker path to the majors. At 23 years old, he is getting close to being “old” for a prospect and could be up by the end of this year. Pratto has light-tower-power, draws his fair share of walks, and possesses the speed and agility to be a passable corner outfielder and 10~ stolen bases threat.
