The Chicago Cubs are being linked to Los Angeles Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani, but it will cost a lot for them to successfully acquire him.
With owner Arte Moreno announcing that he plans to sell the team, rumors have been swirling that the Angels are ready to embark on a rebuild. Mike Trout’s name has come up in the rumor mill, and now Ohtani’s future with the Halos could be in question.
MLB insider Jon Morosi added plenty of fuel to the Ohtani rumors while on ‘The Parkins and Spiegal Show’. He said that he wouldn’t be surprised if the two-way superstar ended up being dealt to the Cubs.
With this, it’s fair to say that the Cubs are linked to Ohtani. It would be massive if they were to land him, but it wouldn’t come at a cheap price.

3. Pete Crow-Armstrong
There’s no question that Cubs top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong would need to be included in this blockbuster. Like Ohtani, he is an outfielder and could end up being a long-term part of the Angels’ core if he reaches his full potential. In 92 games this season split between Single-A and Single-A+, he has 16 home runs, 56 RBIs, and a .315 batting average.
Crow-Armstrong is a prospect who the Angels would need to develop for a few years before he could make the jump to the majors. Yet, the wait will surely be worth it if he can develop into the star outfielder that many scouts peg him to becoming. Thus, he would need to be added to this trade for it to have any chance of occurring.
