The postseason Atlanta Braves roster doesn’t need to have these three players on it.
The Atlanta Braves are going to the postseason! Exactly whom they play, which spot they will have in the MLB postseason bracket, and how far they can go is yet to be determined. Regardless of those important facts, we do know the Braves are going to see some action in October with their season on the line as their magic number continues to shrink.
One important preparation for their World Series defense is to bring along the best players they can for a postseason run. Last year’s second-half decisions helped push Atlanta into a prime position to capture a title.
Unfortunately, for these three members of the Braves organization, they shouldn’t get anywhere near the postseason roster.
1) Braves postseason roster needs to steer clear of Ehire Adrianza
Is there a role for Ehire Adrianza on the Braves postseason roster? There absolutely can be. He managed to have 10 plate appearances for the Braves in the 2021 postseason where he mustered up only a single hit in all of those opportunities.
Not known for his batting skills, Adrianza is a utility man capable of playing all over the field. In this year’s postseason, he might not be so essential to have.
With the belief that Ozzie Albies will be around, the Braves can cover their infield with Orlando Arcia and Vaughn Grissom as backups. Adrianza might have more flexibility than Guillermo Heredia. However, Heredia is useful as an outfielder.
Plus, if one of them is going to break away from their year-long slump, Heredia seems more likely to do it than Adrianza. Adrianza is only useful in a limited role whereas Heredia can at least give quality innings on defense.
