The radio calls for Albert Pujols’ 700th and 699th career home runs will give even the most ardent Cardinals hater chills.
It was a historic night for baseball on Friday as Albert Pujols smashed his 699th and 700th career home runs at Dodgers Stadium.
The designated hitter who is set to retire at the end of the season has now joined the unmatched company of Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth in the 700 Home Run Club.
He started with a 434-foot home run in the third inning then, coming to the plate just one inning later, he broke through for No. 700 with a 389-foot shot to left.
Social media was absolutely enthralled by the moment.

It was a magical night in Los Angeles for Cardinals fans, Dodgers fans and every other baseball lover on the planet. Pujols credits Dodgers Stadium with rejuvenating his love of baseball during his year playing there. Now that Pujols has gotten to 700, the rest of the season can focus on saying farewell to the future Hall of Famer and appreciating every moment he has left. Of course, the Cardinals will look to extend his stay as long as possible with the playoffs on the horizon. There is still plenty of baseball left for him to play
