After a long offseason, we are just days away from the start of the 2023 MLB season.
The National League has a strong class of rookies, so today we’re going to take a look at the betting odds to win this year’s NL Rookie of the Year award.
After taking a peak at the odds, I’ll break down my prediction for who’s going to win it.
Odds to win NL Rookie of the Year
NL Rookie of the Year prediction
There are two names tied atop the odds list to win NL Rookie of the Year; Corbin Carroll and Jordan Walker. While there are plenty other names on the list, I think the smart bet is to take one of those two young guns.
So, which one is the better bet? I’m rolling with Carroll, the leftfielder for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Carroll has a couple of advantages over Walker. One of them is that he saw Major League action last year, whereas Walker played in no higher than AA. In 104 at bats last season, Carroll racked up 14 RBIs with a .260 batting average.
He has also looked sharp in spring training, sporting an eye-popping .372 batting average and a 1.128 OPS in 55 plate appearances.
I’ll take Carroll to win the 2023 NL Rookie of the Year award.
