Angels star Mike Trout could be out two months with injury.
The Los Angeles Angels are taking hit after hit and it’s not the scoreboard kind.
Earlier this month longtime fan favorite Albert Pujols was released from the team and signed with SoCal rival, the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made his club debut just last night. And now, the biggest star the Angels have, Mike Trout, is injured and will be out for at least a month … maybe longer.
Ouch.
The slugger exited Monday’s game against Cleveland because of a strained right calf and now we know the extent of his injuries. He’ll be about six-to-eight weeks and that’s going to be a big thorn in the cap of the Angels.
“I saw nothing,” Joe Maddon said after the game on Monday. “I looked up and he was limping to the third base bag. It was kind of innocuous, and I had no idea why. It was hurting him pretty good.”

Thankfully the Angels aren’t up s–t creek with no paddle as they have a superstar still in the lineup in Shohei Ohtani, who is an absolute freak of nature. But we’ll probably see an increase in pitchers walking him and the team will undoubtably suffer.
The Angels sit in fourth place in the AL West, six games behind the division-leading Oakland Athletics.
