Dodgers release powerful Black Lives Matter video

The Los Angeles Dodgers came together for Black Lives Matter.

Several members of the Los Angeles Dodgers, including Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler and Cody Bellinger, appeared in a powerful video for Black Lives Matter.

“For centuries the Black community lived in a different America. Instead of addressing racism and inequality and injustice, many of us just looked away,” Kershaw said at the opening of the video shared on the Dodgers’ Twitter account.

“We don’t know the exact answers, but we are committed to working, listening and amplifying Black voices to be part of the solution,” Kike Hernandez and Joc Pederson said.

“It’s up to each and every one of us. We can’t just look away because it’s uncomfortable,” Buehler said.

“Loving this country means admitting it’s not the same for us all,” Bellinger said.

“Silence is no longer an option. I’m fighting for my teammates, their families and their communities. And that is why unapologetically we must say, Black Lives Matter,” Kershaw said at the close of the video.

With matching funds from the sale of “In This Together” T-shirts, the Dodgers proudly support the California funders for boys and men of color. For more information, you can visit dodgers.com/together.

Dodgers fans applauded their team taking action.

This is a great move by the Dodgers to fight for equality and justice for all, especially in their local communities. Expect more MLB teams to produce their own version of this type of video where they express a mission of equality and eradicating racism by using their voice and platform to inspire change.
