Watch as Gerrit Cole’s fingers stick to the brim of his hat

Watch as Gerrit Cole’s fingers stick to the brim of his hat.

We all know there are little tricks that pitchers use to improve their pitches, most of them are rule-breakers but heads are turned since it’s so common amongst pitchers. One of those things is the use of things like pine tar to grip the balls better.

We see it inside gloves, on arms and on hats.

A fan caught a moment that appears to show Yankee’s pitcher, Gerrit Cole, using some sort of sticky substance to help grip his ball.

The substance appears to be so sticky that his fighters stick to the brim of his hat briefly.

Gerrit Cole is an incredible pitcher

Cole is an outstanding pitcher and no one is implying anything here, but it’s still pretty funny.

He was signed to one of the richest contracts for a pitcher at $324 million for nine seasons and his talent proves it’s absolutely deserved … pine tar or not!

At press time the Yankees were down 0-1 to the Tampa Bay Rays in the fourth inning.
