Will the Colorado Rockies end up trading star third baseman Nolan Arenado before the 2021 MLB season arrives?
After signing his massive eight-year extension last year, it seemed like Nolan Arenado was ready to make dynamic plays for the Colorado Rockies for the long haul. However, that may no longer be the case, as trade rumors have already started to swirl surrounding the superstar infielder.
This obviously is a big disappointment for Rockies fans, as Arenado is one of the best third basemen in the game. However, he’s clearly not happy with the organization and things only appear to be getting worse between him and the front office.
Nolan Arenado clearly is not happy with the Colorado Rockies front office
Per Rockies general manager Jeff Bridrich, ‘there’s nothing to discuss’ when it comes to Arenado and his communication in recent months? Holy smokes, talk about stirring the pot with a few choice words.
It’s easy to see why trade rumors are flying all over the place with Arenado. The relationship between him and the Rockies appears to be getting worse by the second, and it could get to a point where things simply won’t be able to be fixed.
Should Arenado end up getting traded, whoever lands him will be securing a monumental addition to their lineup. Arenado is a five-time All-Star and is a beast at the plate. Last season, he hit eight homers and recorded 26 RBI during the shortened campaign. In 2019, he appeared in 155 games, belting 41 dingers.
Arenado wants to play for a contender and the Rockies are coming off an abysmal 26-34 season. Looking ahead, it’s feeling less and less likely he’ll suit up for the club next spring. We’ll see if the Rockies and another club are able to pull off a huge trade this offseason.
