So, how about heading north to play for Toronto? Per a report, Toronto is so serious about winning the Springer lottery, they’ve put a $100 million on the table for him.
The Toronto Blue Jays are clearly making George Springer a priority
The Blue Jays of course aren’t alone in their pursuit of Springer, as the New York Mets are trying to make another splash this offseason. New owner Steve Cohen has shown just how serious he is about turning things around, with trading for Francisco Lindor being a great start.
Springer is one of the sexiest names out there in free agency, as the World Series champ is known for his big bat at the plate and rocket for an arm.
Of course, this isn’t going to be the only lucrative contract that gets put on the table for Springer. Once the Mets and others find out about what Toronto is up to, you better believe Springer’s agents will be hearing from other clubs. Cohen won’t back down to Toronto either.
Again, everyone is waiting to see where Springer will ink leading up to spring training. We could find out soon enough where the star slugger will be headed. Once the news drops, one fanbase is going to be jumping for joy.
