Every MLB team has hope this year, except for the flightless Baltimore Orioles.
For 29 of the 30 MLB teams, there is at least a sliver of hope for October baseball. That one team who has absolutely no shot are the bad, bad, bad Baltimore Orioles, who Fangraphs gave 0.0 percent chance of making the postseason.
As the Colorado Rockies pump their fists like it’s Lloyd Christmas season in Aspen, Orioles fans can only hope to dream Fangraphs will be as kind as Mary Samsonite Swanson was back in the mid-1990s. While the baseball will be horrendous, Orioles fans can drown their sorrows with some more Natty Bohs while they await another round of crabcakes from Jimmy’s Famous Seafood.
It is not if, but when the Baltimore Orioles will lose 100 games this season
As the weather hopefully changes, it means it will be one day closer to NFL training camp. Marylanders from all around can get ready to get ready for some more Action Lamar Jackson on fall Sundays. This is because the Baltimore Ravens have a better than 0.0 percent chance of making the playoffs. Even if Robert Griffin III was their starter, they would still have a shot.
On the hot summer day in late August or early September when the O’s put two O’s in the loss column, you will be ready for the Ravens to flock. At what point in the season do they swap out the infield dirt for some Old Bay seasoning, you know, just to see what happens? That stuff is never coming out of your clothes, but it will be more enjoyable to watch than Orioles baseball.
For as bad as next season could be, nobody’s will be worse than the 2021 Baltimore Orioles.
