Chicago White Sox land infielder Jake Lamb

The Chicago White Sox have bolstered their infield with the signing of left-handed bat Jake Lamb.

The 29-year-old Lamb split last season between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Oakland Athletics, putting up 3 home runs and 10 RBI on a .193/.283/.352 slash line in 99 plate appearances.

What can Jake Lamb do for the Chicago White Sox?

Lamb made the 2017 All-Star team with the Diamondbacks for a season in which he slashed .248/.357/.487 with 30 home runs and 105 RBIs. Injuries took their toll over the next two seasons and he’s managed just total 563 plate appearances in the three years since making the All-Star team.

As he tries to bounce back from the past few seasons, Lamb will likely play in a utility role for the White Sox, adding depth and another left-handed bat to the roster.
