Knicks fans started trolling José Altuve with a chant during playoff game

New York Knicks fans actually started trolling Jose Altuve in the middle of their playoff game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Just when you thought the trolling of the Houston Astros couldn’t get any better, leave it to the good folks of New York to step up and give us something totally different, and totally awesome. Sorry Jose Altuve, you’re not going to like this.

In the middle of the Knicks’ Game 1 showdown with the Atlanta Hawks, fans inside Madison Square Garden actually started chanting ‘fu** Altive.’ You can’t make this kind of stuff up.

Knicks fans trolling Jose Altuve is not something folks expected for Game 1

We all know how passionate fans in New York can be, but this really is not what we expected to happen on Sunday. You’d think the focus on those inside the Garden would have been on Trae Young and the Hawks, but for a moment, people decided to mix things up.

Altuve and the Astros are of course hated all over New York after the sign-stealing scandal from their World Series-winning season back in 2017. That same year, Altuve took home AL MVP honors over Aaron Judge. No one in any of the five boroughs has forgotten about that. Bring up Altuve’s name at your corner bodega and you might get thrown out. That’s how intense the hatred is for the superstar infielder and his team.

We’ve seen plenty of trolling against the Astros this season and it doesn’t look like things are going to stop soon. This may be the first time it has been done inside an NBA stadium. Don’t be surprised if it ends up happening again in the near future, especially either in Manhattan or over in Brooklyn.
