Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve smashed a home run over the Green Monster during Wednesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.
The Houston Astros had a great start to their trip to Boston, as they defeated the Red Sox 7-1 on Tuesday night. Looking to clinch the series on Wednesday night, the Astros got themselves in an early 2-0 hole. But they got out of the jam, thanks to the bat of second baseman Jose Altuve.
After Myles Straw knocked in a run in the top of the second inning, Altuve tied the game at two runs apiece in the third after sending a Nathan Eovaldi cutter over the Green Monster in left field.

There was no doubt about that one, because it was gone as soon as the ball left the bat.
Houston’s fun would not end in the third inning, as they took a 5-2 lead thanks to an RBI double by Yordan Alvarez, an RBI ground-rule double by Yuli Gurriel and an RBI single by Michael Brantley, all of which were hit off of Eovaldi.
The Astros trailed early, but Altuve helped open up the floodgates early on in Wednesday’s contest.
