Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Travis Shaw had to be helped off the field by team trainers after going down with what looks to be a serious injury.
There was a scary scene at the Great American Ball Park in the battle between the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers. That’s because Milwaukee third baseman Travis Shaw went down with a rough injury and he was down on the ground for several minutes.
In the video below, you can see that Shaw was in a considerable amount of pain. Things were so bad, a cart was brought out onto the field to take him off. He was able to walk off with the help of team trainers, but there’s sure plenty of concern for him right now.
Travis Shaw could miss an extended amount of time with his new injury
This is obviously terrible news for the Brewers. Shaw was clearly dazed after his awkward landing. The good news at least was that he was able to walk off the field. However, the look on his face lets you know just how bad this injury is.
While we’re not going to speculate on things, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if the veteran player ends up missing a considerable amount of time.
The Brewers have since announced that Shaw suffered a dislocated left shoulder, which means a trip to the Injured List is surely on the way. Before his injury, Shaw was hitting .192 with six home runs and 28 RBI. He was also sporting a .619 OPS.
As for Milwaukee, the NL Central club entered Wednesday’s game with a 34-26 record. The Brewers are tied with the Chicago Cubs for the division lead, in a battle that’s expected to keep heating up throughout the summer.
