Rough news has come in for the Atlanta Braves, as star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. has been scratched from the lineup on Wednesday due to a back injury.
This is certainly something to keep an eye on moving forward for Atlanta Braves fans. Whenever Ronald Acuña Jr. is at the plate, people think he’s on the verge of leaving the ballpark. Folks were getting ready for that to potentially happen on Wednesday, but that won’t be the case.
That’s because the slugger has been scratched before the first pitch due to back tightness. Back injuries certainly are ones that can linger, so Brian Snitker is certainly hoping some rest can pay off for his superstar player.

The early indication is that this isn’t a serious injury for Acuña, but again, you’re always going to be worried about back issues with a player — especially when it’s someone of Acuña’s caliber. He’s without question one of the most exciting players in the National League. Heck, he’s one of the most entertaining players in the game, period.
On the year, Acuña is hitting .285, with an impressive 20 homers and 45 RBI. On top of his incredible power at the dish, the playmaker is also unreal from his right field spot, as he’s got a cannon for an arm. Seriously, base runners would be foolish to try and run on him.
For now, Snitker will be without such a threat in the middle of the lineup. However, the hope is that this is a one-game thing, and Acuña won’t miss an extended period of time. One night off will hopefully be more than enough for his back to heal up so he can get back on the field and at the dish.
