Los Angeles Angels pitcher Dylan Bundy left his start against the Yankees after throwing up on the mound.
Bundy entered the game with a 6.68 ERA, so there’s a chance the thought of that number rising made his stomach uncomfortable. Or, it’s the fact that these same New York Yankees he’s facing haven’t lived up to par so far this season.
In just the second inning, Bundy stepped off the mound while facing infielder DJ LeMahieu, and couldn’t keep it in any longer. The end result was Bundy’s lunch, and perhaps dinner, on the back of the bump.
That rosin bag will never be the same.
Dylan Bundy’s moment eerily similar to Yankees 2021 season
The Yankees and Dylan Bundy have a lot in common — they showed up for the start of something, and failed to finish. Bundy at least made it two innings into a relatively unsuccessful start. The Yankees, minus a May winning streak, have suffered on every level.
A lineup full of otherworldly talent hasn’t lived up to par, and a rotation that on paper looks rather successful has imploded at times. Even the bullpen has been shaky.
In other words, it’s been puke-worthy. Bundy did New York a favor. That’s your baseball team.
