A fan of the San Diego Padres got the crowd going when she made an impressive one-handed, outstretched catch while holding a baby in her arms.
It’s not Mother’s Day, but it could be in San Diego.
On Wednesday, a Padres fan with a baby in her arms made an awe-inspiring catch to the delight of the crowd.
Neither the Padres nor the Cubs could hope to outdo this one:
Moms are renowned for their ability to multitask. They can do practically everything with a baby in their arms. Catching a bouncing baseball with one barehand is a new one.
This mom has a pretty awesome video to share with her child when they grow up.
A mom catching a ball is the highlight of the series between the Padres, Cubs
The only thing the Padres can do to make that fan’s day more awesome would be to close out the Cubs series with a victory.
San Diego took the first game 9-4, with home runs from Manny Machado and Brian O’Grady, whose promotion from the minors couldn’t have started on a better note.
Chicago hit back on Tuesday with a 7-1 victory. Pitcher Zach Davies dominated the outing while Anthony Rizzo was an RBI machine with a two-run homer and an RBI double. Patrick Wisdom also hit one out of the park.
The Padres need a response to tighten the gap from the Giants in the NL West race. San Francisco is atop the standings while San Diego sits two games out. They have the Dodgers hot on their tails in third as well.
The Cubs know all about the Giants. They’ve been integral to forming the current NL West standings by sweeping the Padres in Chicago, then coming out west for a road trip and going 1-3 against San Francisco in their first series.
