Best reactions to Kumar Rocker falling to the Mets at No. 10

If you’re asking yourself the question ‘did Kumar Rocker get drafted’, New York Mets fans won’t be subtle about giving you an answer.

It’s never easy being a New York Mets fan, but the universe does its best to throw the fan base a bone of hope every so often.

The latest example of the stars aligning with unspeakable luck happened in the MLB Draft his year. Kumar Rocker entered the draft as perhaps the best player available, but slid all the way to the bottom of the Top 10 where the Mets were waiting with wide smiles and open arms.

Rocker was once expected to be the No. 1 pick in the draft, so the fact that he fell all the way to No. 10 is an absolute miracle. The fact that its the Mets who are the benefactors of Kumar’s slide has NL East fans feeling like it’s a case of the rich getting richer.

If all goes well the Mets could have a starting rotation of Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Kumar Rocker leading the charge.

Needless to say, Mets fans were over the moon over Rocker falling to New York at No. 10 in the MLB Draft.

Did Kumar Rocker get drafted?

He did indeed, and Mets fans aren’t being subtle about their excitement.

Even current Mets players are welcoming Rocker to the team.

Rocker is going to cost the Mets, as he’s expected to be paid in the range of where he was expected to be taken. But whatever contract the Mets have to give him will be worth every penny. The potential that Rocker brings to the New York rotation is priceless, and it gives them flexibility with its current star starters. Prior to drafting Rocker, trading Syndergaard would have cut the Mets rotation in half, but now it only subtracts a third of its power.

There’s also the matter of how good the Mets prospects and young stars are. New York has three of the Top 100 prospects in baseball and have already guys like Brandon Nimmo, Dominic Smith, Michael Conforto, and Rookie Of The Year Peter Alonso in their lineup.

Adding Kumar gives them yet another top young potential star, and sets the Mets up to dominate the National League in the years to come.
