Clemson football signee Will Taylor has been drafted by the MLB’s Texas Rangers and has made up his mind for his future.
With the Texas Rangers selecting Will Taylor in the 19th round of the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft, he joins Bubba Chandler as the second Clemson football signee to be selected this summer.
Chandler has indicated he will forego his college career and sign with the Pittsburgh Pirates after being the No. 72 overall pick out of high school. While he was slated to play both baseball and football at Clemson, the former was seen as his best sport coming out. Losing Chandler to MLB was always a strong possibility, so him turning pro and leaving school makes a ton of sense.
As for Taylor, he won’t be following the same route as Chandler.

The good news for Clemson is Taylor’s father Eddie says his son will stick with his football career instead of signing with the Rangers.
“Will is All In for Clemson,” Eddie Taylor told The State on Monday.
The three-star athlete from Columbia had first-round potential on the baseball diamond, but his falling draft stock was all about the notion of him honoring his commitment to Clemson. He will stay with the Tigers now.
Baseball is widely considered to be Taylor’s third-best sport behind football and wrestling. He is expected to contribute as either a quarterback or a slot receiver in college. Though he will have to bide his time behind D.J. Uiagalelei for at least two more years.
