Hours after the MLB trade deadline, San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. suffered an apparent injury while sliding into third base.

The MLB trade deadline came and went on Friday, and the San Diego Padres emerged with Adam Frazier, Daniel Hudson and Jake Marisnick. With that, the Padres were now set to make their push to a postseason berth, where they hope to make a run to the World Series. Hours later, they’re dealing with an injury scare to star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr.

In the bottom of the first inning of Friday’s game against the Colorado Rockies, Tatis ran to third base following a fielding error by Ryan McMahon. After sliding into third, Tatis immediately clutched his arm. The shortstop was removed from the game and replaced by Ha-Seong Kim.

The Padres dealt with an injury scare earlier this season with Tatis. Back on April 5, Tatis suffered a left shoulder subluxation after taking a swing in a game against the San Francisco Giants. Tatis opted against undergoing surgery and was placed on the 10-day injured list. The shortstop made his return on April 16 against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This season, Tatis is slashing .292/.373/.651 while recording 31 home runs, 70 RBI, 78 runs scored and 92 hits through 87 games.
