A 12-year-old just pitched a no-hitter at the Little League World Series.
What were you doing at 12 years old? You probably weren’t pitching no-hitters, that’s for sure. But that’s what Eli Jones just did. He also became the first youngster to do so since 1980.
Let’s buy him a round of … apple juice? Capri Sun? The Gatorade color of his choice?

Jones plays for the Washington team from Sammamish Little League. He went six innings with five strikeouts, two walks and one HBP.
He wasn’t just key to the victory for what he did on the mound. He also drove in the only run of the game.
Do we have another Shohei Ohtani on our hands?
That run was the only one given up by Florida, who got an excellent pitching performance out of Preston Sullivan. In what has got to be the toughest loss, Sullivan went six innings and struck out eight, allowing just four hits. The opposing pitcher just outdid him this time.
Washington gets to advance in the losers bracket while Florida was eliminated by the loss. Next up, Washington will take on either Hawaii or Nebraska.
Jones notched the first individual no-hitter at the Little League World Series in decades, but it was actually the second no-hitter in as many days. On Friday, South Dakota’s Gavin Weir and Cason Mediger had a combined no-hitter against Louisiana in their opening game.
