Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies

Cubs tie game on awful Trevor Story error at worst possible moment (Video)

In the opposite of a storybook ending for the Colorado Rockies, they let the tying run cross at Wrigley Field thanks to an error from their star shortstop.

In a matchup between two brutal teams, the Cubs and Rockies are trying to out-bad each other on Wednesday night at Wrigley.

Trevor Story let an easy ground ball eat him up for the tying run, as he airmailed the throw wide right.

That was…nowhere close!

Rockies fans everywhere can relate to the woman in that video, turning to the Cubs fan in utter disbelief.

Trevor Story’s error let the Cubs tie the game in the most frustrating way

Listen, even the best players in the game make big mistakes. Story just let that one get very away from him.

Even without that mishap, Wednesday’s game in Chicago was a wild affair.

Colorado went up early 2-0 on a Brendan Rodgers home run. The Cubs rode a scoring wave in the second inning to grab a 5-2 lead.

In the fourth inning, Connor Joe flipped things around with a grand slam before a two-run sixth inning put the Rockies up 8-5.

The comebacks weren’t done yet. Ian Happ tied things up with a three-run homer in the seventh. Colorado responded with an RBI single from Dom Nuñez in the eighth to retake the lead. Then they gave it right back on Story’s error.
