Watch: Yankees Hall of Fame tribute to Derek Jeter will give you chills

The New York Yankees’ video tribute to Derek Jeter ahead of his National Baseball Hall of Fame induction will give you the chills.

The Captain is going into the National Baseball Hall of Fame on Wednesday afternoon, and the New York Yankees‘ tribute video of Derek Jeter will bring out all the emotions you have inside.

Jeter spent his entire 20-year MLB career in pinstripes. He was a 14-time All-Star, a five-time Silver Slugger recipient, earned five Gold Gloves and above all else, won five World Series championships for the Bronx Bombers. With 3,465 career hits, Jeter was a no-doubt, first-ballot hall of famer. While he came up just shy of being a unanimous inductee, he gets in on Wednesday.

Watch this incredible tribute video put out by the Yankees on Twitter to celebrate Jeter’s big day.

Jeter will not be getting inducted into Cooperstown alone today. He will be enshrined in the National Baseball Hall of Fame alongside three others on Wednesday afternoon: Marvin Miller, Ted Simmons and Larry Walker, all of whom are members of the 2020 class. Since nobody received 75-percent of the vote for 2021, nobody is being inducted in that class on Wednesday afternoon.

For an entire generation, Jeter was the face of the Yankees. He played the most notable position for them with grace, dignity and class. Jeter never got too high or too low while playing on the biggest of stages. His ability to stay present and focus on the task at hand is why he transcended baseball. Of all the Yankees great to play for them, Jeter holds a very special place in The Bronx.

Congratulations on being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, Derek!
