Joey Votto flips out on umpire for awful third strike call (Video)

Joey Votto was unhappy with umpire Edwin Moscoso for costing him a walk and hurting his on-base percentage in the process.

When you’re fighting for a playoff spot, every baserunner matters. Votto found this out the hard way when he was called out for what should have been ball four.

That pitch was outside by at least a few inches, and Votto made sure to let Moscoso know about that. After getting his money’s worth on the field, he took his complaints to the dugout and made sure to communicate that frustration with his teammates.

Honestly, it’s tough to blame him.

Cincinnati Reds battling for a playoff spot

The Reds are still chasing a Wild Card spot in the National League.

Just two games ahead of the San Diego Padres, losing to the lowly Marlins will not be tolerated. Votto — who has a good of interpretation of the strike zone as anyone in the majors — surely will not let this one go.
