Freddie Freeman’s latest Instagram post will scare Braves fans

Free agent Freddie Freeman’s latest Instagram post sure sounded like goodbye to Atlanta Braves fans, even if it wasn’t.

If this isn’t goodbye, then Freeman owes fans an explanation because…what the hell?

The greater likelihood is that Freeman is trying to thank Braves fans for a wonderful season, in which the team won the World Series. But…couldn’t he phrase it any differently?

“Braves Country! Thank you for the incredible memories. The support you’ve shown means the world to me. #championsforever ,” Freeman wrote.

Come on, Freddie! Don’t give in to the free agent market just yet. The comments are pure chaos.

“Stay with us. Please”

“Chill.”

“Come back.”

“We love you, Frederick.”

There were many, many more.

Braves remain optimistic they can bring back Freddie Freeman

Just Sunday afternoon, Alex Anthopoulos suggested the Braves were in prime position to bring back Freeman. While it would be costly, the Braves are willing to out-spend last season’s budget, as they’ll have to if they want to not just re-sign Freeman, but the other members of their free agent class.

“We love him. He’s great. We want him to stay. He wants to stay…Our goal is to sign him and keep him a Brave. That’s probably all I can say at this point,” Anthopoulos said.

He also went on to call Freeman a future Hall of Famer.

Freddie is a career Brave, and it would be a huge surprise if he signs somewhere else, despite what this post suggests. But at this point, Freeman is on the open market, so he’s fair game.

The MLB offseason is peak social media turmoil. Braves fans are just finding that out the hard way.
